Bonomi North America is introducing a new line of automated thermoplastic ball valves for use in plumbing, mechanical, chemical, and other applications. Listed with NSF to Standard 61 for potable water, the new valve packages offer a variety of advanced features that improve operation and enhance reliability, said company officials.

The new plastic packages include the two-way BV2 Series and the three-way BV3 Series. They are operated by factory-installed electric or pneumatic actuators, with two-way full-port valves in sizes .5-in to 4-in or three-way valves in sizes .5-in to 2-in.

Pneumatic rack-and-pinion actuators for the new automated packages feature anodized aluminum bodies. They are designed for 80 PSI control air pressure and are operable using air, water, nitrogen, or other compatible hydraulic fluids from 40 to 120 PSI. Dual travel stops are standard.

The electric actuators have dual 100VAC – 240VAC or dual 24 AC/DC reversing motors with torque limiters, thermal protection, auxiliary limit switch, NEMA 4X indoor use enclosure, manual override, and position indicator as standard. Options include a 4-20mA positioner, battery backup and 180° rotation. Both technopolymer and powder-coated cast aluminum enclosures are available.

The two-way valve bodies, stems, balls, and double-blocking unions are made of either PVC (part number PVC-BV2) or CPVC (part number CPVC-BV2). Three-way models are constructed from PVC only and are available with either a T flow pattern (PVC-BV3T) or L pattern (PVC-BV3L). Both the PVC and CPVC models meet applicable requirements of ASTM D1784 and are rated at 232psi at 73ºF. End connections are either socket style or threaded.
