FS-Elliott Co., LLC has released the R1000, the newest addition to the Regulus® control system line. The R1000 introduces new features that together enable plant operators to deal with energy costs. The control system features Ambient Compensation Control, a local control mode designed to automatically adjust the compressor set point based on changes in ambient conditions.
Aquatherm’s polypropylene-random (PP-R) piping systems now feature a new PEX compression adapter made of PP-R and lead-free brass. This adapter allows installers to easily transition between Aquatherm and PEX in potable water and radiant systems. Aquatherm’s new PEX adapter is entirely zero-lead and manufactured to ASTM F1960. A new male-end design allows installers to fuse directly into fusion outlets, making it quicker and easier to install, according to Aquatherm reps. The PEX adapter is available in .50-in., .75-in., and 1-in. diameters.
Lennox has expanded its light commercial Raider® rooftop unit line to include new 7.5- to 12.5-ton models, adding to its existing offering of 3- to 5-ton units. Designed for compatibility with many replacement installations, Raider units are built to fit the most curb sizes virtually eliminating the need for an adaptor curb on many replacement jobs. Available in gas/electric and electric/electric models, 3- to 12.5-ton units offer efficiency levels of up to 13 SEER, 11.5 EER, and 13.2 IEER.
Bitzer is now offering a range of compressor units for use with the natural refrigerant ammonia (R717). The Bitzer ammonia compressor packs (ACP) are available with a capacity range of 100 to 450 TR. The modular compressor units comprise up to three compressors. For higher capacities, as many as three compressor packs can be connected (up to 9 compressors) and connected to a single controller, increasing the overall capacity up to 1,200 TR. The company says this is ideal for industrial systems.
Johnson Controls introduced the Luxaire® Ovation™ Ultra High Efficiency Packaged Unit. The combination of the unit’s two-stage compressor, VFD, high-efficiency indoor/outdoor coil, and premium-efficiency indoor/outdoor motor, delivers up to 18.1 SEER and 14.35 EER.
Bitzer’s Oribt 6 Series Scroll Compressors for R410A are based on the design of the company’s Orbit 8 Series Scrolls. The 6 Series is designed for applications ranging from 10-20 HP, and according to Bitzer officials offers market leading energy efficiency and the lowest sound levels in their class by 2 – 4 dB(A).
Danfoss will extend its inverter scroll compressor range VZH to include three new models. According to the company, the variable speed VZH compressors provide efficiency at part-load conditions, and can improve efficiency by more than 30% compared to fixed-speed compressors.
