Danfoss says it has engineered a solution that safely controls hot gas injection with the ICSH Dual Position Solenoid Valve. Complying with the latest IIAR safety recommendations for soft gas applications, the ICSH Dual Position Solenoid Valve provides a gradual, time-controlled opening for a smooth pressure build-up in the evaporator before it opens the flow to 100% for full defrost.
Carrier announced the commercial availability of its AquaEdge® 19DV in North America. The centrifugal chiller features Greenspeed® intelligence and a low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant R1233zd(E), which has a GWP of ~1. Carrier officials said the AquaEdge 19DV has an efficiency that is more than 40% higher than ASHRAE® 2016 guidelines, has low sound, and is capable of series counterflow configurations.
Danfoss has released its new EVR v2 solenoid valves, having completed a wide series of improvements to the range of EVR valves throughout 2017. The company says the reinforcements and rationalization now make the valves capable of accommodating higher refrigerant pressure and a broader range of applications while reducing the references, inventory, and servicing time.

ITW Vortec has updated its line of enclosure coolers. The ProtEX Vortex A/C enclosure cooler has been granted certification for Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C and D; Class II, Division 1, Groups F and G; and Class III, after review by UL.
