Schaffner has expanded its line of dv/dt filters to include the FN5060HV which protects AC motors up to 690/600VAC from destructive effects of peak voltages and inrush amps. This patented technology protects motors and adjacent equipment without capacitors or resistor. They efficiently reduce high output dv/dt from IGBT motor drives and eliminate over-voltages caused by line reflections on motor cables, per IEC 60034-17/25. Typical dv/dt reduction is a factor of 8 to 12.
Kohler Power Systems has completed its first industrial standby diesel generator line powered by a Kohler engine. The fully-integrated Kohler product line utilizes Kohler’s Direct Injection (KDI) diesel engines and includes both Tier 3 and Tier 4 Final models ranging from 15 kW to 60 kW.
Vibration fluctuations in HVAC systems are an early indicator of problems that cause equipment failure such as pump cavitation, unbalanced fans, and bad bearings. Sensaphone’s® new Vibration Sensor can be permanently mounted on equipment like generators, cooling towers, fans, and circulating pumps on chillers and boilers to continuously monitor vibration velocity and detect unusual conditions.
Fulton Steam Solutions has launched of a new line of electric steam boilers (FB-E series). Suitable for most any application requiring a design pressure of 100 PSI, the boilers can provide operating pressures up to 85 PSI. The FB-E units serve customers requiring efficient, high-quality saturated steam, including laboratories, hospitals, industrial plants, pilot plants, food and chemical processing applications.
Greenheck now offers low sound condenser fans as a standard offering on its Model RV and RVE pre-engineered packaged rooftop ventilation systems. Condenser fan noise levels can be a challenge with air-cooled packaged rooftop equipment installations.
Trane has added a new compact vertical blower coil to its terminal products portfolio. Available as a single-zone VAV system with Tracer™ UC400 controllers, the company claims the blower coil can deliver up to 66% higher efficiency, temperature stability, quiet operation and dehumidification advantages for varying-occupancy space.
Aqua Products Company, Inc has introduced new expandable sizes of its Build-A-Chiller models know as the Chiller-Pac (CP). CP Models are now expanded from 1 ton up to 50 ton. The models include a custom designed evaporator module with all refrigeration and electrical components needed to assemble a fully custom designed remote chiller built into a single cabinet. All that is needed to make a remote chiller is your air cooled or water cooled condensing unit, and a buffer tank and pump(s).
Metalaire has released its Non-Ducted Return Hood. The Model NDRH is intended to be a field added accessory to return grilles in non-ducted plenum applications. The company claims the model significantly reduces the amount of sound transmitted into or from the plenum and also functions as a light shield.
Carrier has introduced the AquaSnap 30RAP chiller. According to the company, the all-in-one package is easy to install and own, and operates quietly and efficiently.
CT/Colt’s Coltlite, a natural louvered ventilator that is installed in the façade of a building, is now available in North America. This dual-purpose product provides buildings with both day-to-day ventilation and smoke control to aid building evacuation in the event of a fire.
