The new EconomizerPro™ HVAC Monitoring Systems can record data from commercial rooftop units to find out if they are wasting energy. The system is simply added on to the unit. According to the manufacturer, it then uploads operational data to the cloud, where data is analyzed by sophisticated algorithms, identifying about $3,000 per year, per unit in wasted energy.
MovinCool®, a brand of DENSO Corporation, unveiled a new Climate Pro™ 18 portable heat pump, which combines both cooling and heating capabilities in a single, self-contained unit. The company says the compact system is 13% smaller and 22% lighter than other comparable heat pumps, yet it offers significantly higher performance. The Climate Pro 18’s cooling capacity is 14,600 Btu/h, the heating capacity is 13,700 Btu/h, and the minimum operating temperature with plenum is 24ºF.
Baldor Electric Company says it has introduced a new adjustable speed direct drive cooling tower system that improves reliability, reduces maintenance, runs quieter, and saves energy. By combining the technologies of the laminated finned frame Baldor-Reliance® RPM AC motor with a high-performance permanent magnet rotor design, this power-dense motor and power-matched adjustable speed drive replaces the right-angle gearbox and jack shaft installation found in many conventional industrial process cooling towers.
B&K Precision launched its latest multi-range DC power supply, the model 9111, expanding its 9110 multi-range supply offering. With constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) modes, the 9111 automatically recalculates voltage and current limits for each setting to deliver any combination of its 60 V/8 A output range within 180 W. The new DC power supply is suitable for a wide variety of uses in electronics manufacturing, service and repair, and engineering labs.
US EPA Tier 4 Final certified mobile generator sets with 150 kW to 275 kW power outputs are now available from Cummins Power Generation for the rental market. Cummins officials said the company conducted extensive field research to develop a reliable product to meet the latest emissions regulations. The mobile generators have been validated and are now available to rental operators and customers.
Berner International Corp. has introduced a patented Venturi-style heater design, which the company says will offer a more aerodynamic, electric heated air curtain with improved air performance efficiency by up 40% The VTH electric heater combines a hemispherical heating element array with an innovative mounting strategy at the blower inlet. The patented design uses the Venturi effect to draw air through the heating element via the blower inlet before it enters the discharge airstream. The discharge airstream velocity remains unobstructed in a near 100% efficient heat transfer, full laminar pattern for an optimum aerodynamic performance. Company officials said that this creates a near perfect environment-separating air seal across any open doorway while providing auxiliary heat, as needed.
Danfoss says it has developed the new TU with F-charge TXV to help OEMs meet the new U.S. Department of Energy commercial refrigeration energy efficiency standards. The new F-bulb charge delivers low superheat in low- and medium-temperature refrigeration ranges, includes asymmetric ballast material that is proven to deliver more stable temperature control and, like all Danfoss TXV bulb charges, is HCFC-22 free.
Harsco Corp. announced a planned market introduction of its all-new NURO™ touchpad control platform for its Patterson-Kelley boiler product line. Developed exclusively by Harsco, the proprietary NURO™ is the latest in the company’s Patterson-Kelley line of customer-focused boiler product innovations, including the introduction last year of its energy-efficient SONIC™ stainless steel boiler and its MACH N’ROLL™ domestic hot water heating system.
FS-Elliott Co. recently launched their Polaris+ series. Building on the design of FS-Elliott’s original industrial compressors, the Polaris+ line incorporates several new product advancements aimed to increase reliability and efficiency while maintaining low cost of ownership. The new Polaris+ series consists of five models with flows ranging from 900 to 11,500 icfm, 250 to 3000 hp, and pressures up to 150 psig.
Rinnai says it has introduced the first tankless water heater in the industry that allows for both concentric or twin-pipe PVC venting from the same unit. These new Ultra Series models RUC98i and RUC80i feature a built-in system, which according to the company, allows for maximum flexibility because the unit specified or on-hand will be compatible with whichever venting installation is preferred or required when it arrives on the jobsite.
