All Laars commercial NeoTherm boilers now come with a large color touch screen as standard equipment. The company says the touch screen allows for quick access to the control’s full functionality in a user friendly interface. A new variable speed boiler pump control option, VARI-PRIME™, is also available that optimizes total installed efficiency by matching boiler input modulation to pump flow.
Fujitsu has introduced its new Airstage VRF system, the J-II Series. The J-II single-phase VRF is a heat-pump, serving ambient heating and cooling applications in a 3- to 5-ton size range, making it ideal for large residential and small commercial installations. The J-II offers up to 19.8 SEER and 11.4 HSPF.
Alfa Laval has introduced a patented cooling concept, Low Speed Ventilation, which the company says delivers air at a considerably lower speed: 1.5 to 1.8 meters per second. Reducing air speed and delivering an optimum airflow eliminates the Venturi effect, minimizes pressure differences, and therefore prevents problems such as “hot spots.” As LSV is a normal pressure technology, data center operators only need to control air availability, not air pressure, making it easier to achieve optimum conditions in the server room.
Reliable Controls has launched a new internet data service (IDS) for RC-Toolkit which the company says enables users to configure MACH-Pro(Web)™ controllers to poll weather services over the internet and map retrieved values to BACnet objects. These objects can then be trended, employed in operational sequences, and displayed in graphics and energy dashboards.
EdmondsUSA says it has brought to America the first hybrid commercial rooftop ventilator, the ecoPOWER. Available in 3 sizes — 16-in, 24-in, and 36-in diameter throats — the ecoPOWER is a rooftop ventilator that combines gravity and motorized ventilation.
Technical Systems (TSI), a division of RAE Corporation, has announced the availability of its Series 35 Evaporative Cooled Chillers. The company says the chillers have been specifically designed to provide-highly efficient cooling for commercial and industrial-duty applications.
Greenheck’s new Model EVH-501D stationary vertical blade louver is Florida Building Code Approved for use in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone and Miami-Dade Approved for use where the room behind the louver is not designed to drain water penetrating into the room or the room will house non-water resistant or water proof equipment, components, or supplies.
Daikin Applied has developed its redefined Pathfinder. The company says this makes it the first air-cooled chiller with variable volume ratio technology, allowing for greater customization. Rivaling the efficiency of water-cooled chillers, officials claim the newly upgraded Pathfinder is also equipped with new variable speed technology, offering easier maintenance and improved part-load performance.
Titus HVAC has introduced the VENTUS LUX, an integrated chilled beam system that combines the efficiency of chilled beams with LED lighting. The company says the compact system is 30% more energy efficient than conventional overhead VAV systems and installation time is faster and more affordable. Future VENTUS LUX product enhancements will include other services and components such as smoke detectors and lighting controls.
Bitzer has modified all models of its 2-stage reciprocating compressors to enable them to run with R448A and R449A refrigerants. With low global warming potential (GWP) values of 1386 and 1397, both refrigerants are eco-friendly alternatives to R404A.The EU F-gas Regulation prohibits the use of R404A beyond the year 2020 in stationary areas.
