The Grundfos PACO-brand LCS split-coupled end suction pumps are now available for sale in the United States. According to the company, LCS is ideally suited for liquid transfer in chilled water, condenser water, pressure boosting, district heating and cooling, and air-conditioning applications. Its compact design provides hydraulic performance equal to that of a frame-mounted, long-coupled design with the added benefits of a smaller footprint.
Toshiba International Corp. now offers the Energy Star-certified Toshiba G9000 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system in 1000 kVA/1000 kW capacity. The G9000 line of UPSs are true online, double-conversion UPS systems providing power at up to 97% efficiency. The company says this is the largest unit yet in the G9000 product line, and is ready to ship from the manufacturing and engineering facility in Houston.
Uponor North America has introduced six new ProPEX® Lead-free (LF) Brass CPVC Adapter Fittings for transitioning from CPVC to PEX in commercial plumbing and hydronic distribution piping systems. Air Pollution Control has introduced the Stinger™, an explosion isolation valve that isolates dust collector explosions to prevent a deflagration from traveling back through the inlet pipe of the dust collector into the workspace. Following extensive testing, Camfil APC reports that the Stinger is the first U.S.-made explosion flap valve to be certified by an independent testing agency to comply with NFPA standards. It may be retrofitted onto most dust collection systems and used with new or existing Farr Gold Series® dust collectors where the risk of a combustible dust explosion exists.
