The finalized system selection shall be a decentralized HVAC system with decentralized HVAC air systems and terminal units with central plant heating and central plant air conditioning.
A new central air system will replace the existing unit to provide improved HVAC to the renovation space being converted to a study hall on the college campus building.
Designers, construction personnel, operators, building management, and building owners need to get up to speed with the topic of resilience going forward.
The new insulated hot water system shall replace the existing pipe distribution and shall include an in-line circulator and standby circulator, normally open ATC control valves to the radiant heat food warmers, DOAS heating, and existing dishwasher heating/booster coil.
The HVAC system selection and design intent is based on the processed outlined in ASHRAE Handbook 2020, Chapter 1, “HVAC System Analysis and Selection.”
